What is a Content Management System?
A CMS stores data in a database. It provides facilities for you to update the data and generates some pages on-the-fly from the data in the database. That sounds complicated because it is complicated and it takes a long time to develop an application from scratch.

Is there a CMS that does everything?
The Open Source Community has invested millions of hours developing free software such as Joomla, Drupal and WordPress that include hundreds of applications. They have come a long way and they are being tested by some companies — with mixed results. We do not believe they will replace website developers for another decade.
